Ramsau am Dachstein is a unique winter sports location for the whole family due to its ideal location at the foot of the Schladming Tauern range and the Dachstein peak.

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiing and skating on the championship cross-country skiing trails in Ramsau am Dachstein. The cross-country skiing trail network with classic and skating trails begins right in front of the hotel and offers cross-country skiers 150 km of perfectly groomed cross-country skiing trails around Ramsau as well as an 18 km high trail on the Dachstein Glacier.

Skiing & snowboarding

Broad, perfectly prepared pistes as far as the eye can see and as well as the local skiing pistes of the Rittisberg (1500 m) and the snow-guaranteed  Dachstein Glacier, Austria’s largest skiing region the "Ski amadé network" with its 860 km of pistes and 270 lifts is right next door.

As well as numerous free rider runs, snowboarders and free skiers can find all they need in the Dachstein Superpark as well as in the snowboard parks of the 4-Mountains Skiing Complex (Planai, Hochwurzen, Hauser-Kaibling, Reiteralm) from kickers and half pipes for beginners to pros.

Right on the pistes and at the valley stations there are cosy ski huts, excellent ski schools and skiing kindergartens as well as the most modern sports shops.

Winter hiking & horse-drawn sleigh rides

Beyond the streets in Ramsau am Dachstein, there is an attractive network of well-prepared, many flat winter hiking trails for walking or for a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride. Traditional farmer’s taverns and sunny terraces invite you to take a break.
A particularly wonderful experience is horse-drawn sleigh ride a by moonlight.


The 3 km floodlit tobogganing run on the Rittisberg, as well as numerous natural tobogganing runs in the area invite you to a fun-filled session during the day or in the evening.  
You get up there on foot or with the chair lift – and after a break at one of the ski huts serving food or mountain taverns, you can zoom down into the valley.
